Scappoose High School features a comprehensive four-year Career and Technical Education (CTE) broadcasting program, recently supported by a $250,000 state revitalization grant to train students for media careers. The program, led by Corey Hedger, includes courses in broadcasting, digital media, and video production. 

Key aspects of the Scappoose High Broadcasting CTE program include:

  • Curriculum & Courses: The pathway includes Broadcasting I & II, Digital Photography I, and Video Production I & II.
  • Skill Development: Students receive hands-on training in video production and broadcasting, preparing them for industry roles.
  • Opportunities: The program is part of a broader CTE initiative at the school, which offers various pathways for career preparation.
  • Funding: A $250,000 grant was awarded to enhance the program, focusing on strengthening technical education for future broadcasters. 

The program focuses on providing practical, industry-aligned skills to high school students, preparing them for post-secondary education or careers in media.
